Research Experience
Post-Doctoral /Economist United States Department of Agriculture . Agricultural Research Services – Agricultural Research Systems Unit. June 2006 - Present
¨ Performed extensive literature search and review of economic and environmental risk methodology.
¨ Developed a two-year research plan for implementing various software applications for integrated economic and environmental risk. Methodology encompassed broad theoretical approaches as well as more fundamental (i.e., applied) approaches.
¨ Collaborated with Professor Dana Hoag at CSU to develop a prototype framework for integrating various economic and environmental risk software components. The purpose of the framework is to function as a comprehensive risk toolbox that will be easily accessible and useable by iFARM target users.
Economist . Battelle Memorial Institute and the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL). Richland. WA. U.S.. PNNL is operated by Battelle Memorial Institute’s Pacific Northwest Division. April 2002 – March 2006
Examples of Completed Projects at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory and Battelle:
¨ Estimate of motor fuel tax evasion rates proposed methodology
¨ Design and simulation of the future integrated energy systems
¨ Historical tracking of benefits and cost of the DOE building programs
Research Associate. Colorado State University – Department of Agricultural and Resource Economics and the Center of Research for the Colorado Economy. June 1998- March 2002.
¨ Used the IMPLAN data sets to build Social Accounting Matrices (SAM) models and expanded them to Computable General Equilibrium (CGE) Models for dissertation.
¨ Constructed models to study impact of livestock R&D policy shocks on economic and welfare measures.
¨ Jointly with CREC staff collected data, reviewed literature, simulated models, used the General Algebraic Modeling System (GAMS) software to conduct regional analysis, and jointly wrote economic analysis reports.
¨ Analyzed the economical and societal impact of livestock R&D shock on the Northern Plain Region (Colorado, Kansas, Nebraska, and South Dakota) livestock industry.
